Families of toddlers are invited to take a guided walk to admire the season’s wild flowers in Cowiche Canyon, led by Katrina Strathmann of the Washington Native Plant Society.
The group will be walking at a toddler’s pace for a non-linear hike down Cowiche Canyon to explore native plants, Cowiche Creek and the Canyon’s geology.
Meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 1 at the Weikel Road parking lot at the west end of Cowiche Canyon. Bring good shoes, snacks and water. Hikers will return to the parking lot by noon.
Directions from Yakima: Travel west on Summitview Avenue about 10 miles to Weikel Road; turn right on Weikel Road and follow the signs to the parking lot.
